Attorney | Nurse | Veteran

Terry DeAngelo is a registered nurse, U.S. Air Force veteran, and trial attorney whose practice is focused on complex medical malpractice and catastrophic injury litigation. His work is shaped by a commitment to service, clinical precision, and advocacy for patients and families harmed by preventable medical errors.

A Philadelphia native, DeAngelo earned his undergraduate degree with honors in nursing from La Salle University, where he was a member of the rowing team and wrestling club. During his time at La Salle, he also worked as a researcher with the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute for Chemical Defense, contributing to research aimed at developing antidotes to chemical warfare agents.

Before entering military service, DeAngelo practiced as a registered clinical nurse caring for patients with spinal cord injuries and neurodegenerative disorders. That experience continues to shape how he evaluates medical records, understands standards of care, and approaches cases involving life-altering neurological harm.

DeAngelo later attended Air Force Officer Training School and rose to the rank of Captain in the Air Force Nurse Corps, where he practiced clinically in Washington, D.C. He volunteered to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and was attached to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force–Afghanistan, led by U.S. Army Special Forces.

While deployed, DeAngelo worked as a nurse-medic supporting Navy SEAL operations, providing trauma care and responding to mass casualty events. Stateside, he cared for severely injured service members and later managed a team of nurses and technicians at a high-volume ambulatory surgery center performing more than 1,500 procedures annually. His military service earned multiple commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, and the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon.

Following his honorable discharge, DeAngelo earned his law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law. During and after law school, he clerked at Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, a nationally recognized catastrophic injury firm. He later practiced alongside his brother at Barrett DeAngelo, LLC, and then at Kline & Specter, P.C., where he focused on personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. He ultimately founded TR DeAngelo Law, LLC to concentrate on serious medical negligence and diagnostic-error cases.

In September 2022, DeAngelo served as co-counsel in a medical malpractice case that resulted in a $19.7 million jury verdict for a client whose undiagnosed spinal mass led to catastrophic and permanent injuries, including partial paraplegia. The verdict was the largest medical malpractice jury award in Pennsylvania that year. Since then, he has secured additional verdicts and multiple multi-million-dollar settlements on behalf of injured patients and their families.

DeAngelo has been repeatedly recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Super Lawyers, an honor awarded to a small percentage of attorneys demonstrating professional achievement and peer recognition early in their careers.
